Swinecrafters LLC Ethical Partner Expectations

Swinecrafters LLC is strongly against all forms of corporate corruption, and we understand that the law of the land isn't always enough to protect individuals and smaller organizations from potential corporate abuse. With feedback from veterans across the industry, we've established our own Ethical Partner Expectations ("EPE") list. This list mandates higher standards for respectful and humane treatment of both individuals and organizations - standards which we adhere to, and which we expect our partners and clients to adhere to.

An individual or organization will be found in keeping with our EPE if they are not, and have never been, guilty of any of the following:

  • Misrepresenting work accomplished or project resources allocated to a client/partner.
  • Failing to return a development aid or other development material to a partner/client upon completion of a project or contract, in situations where ownership was not explicitly assigned.
  • Abusing power and financial leverage by requesting goods/services from a client/partner/employee which go above and beyond the scope of agreed upon work, while refusing to offer additional compensation for said goods/services.
  • Terminating a relationship with a client/partner/employee for disingenuous reasons, or reasons which are otherwise designed to conceal a more questionable agenda.
  • Abusing financial leverage by having an employee forgo rights under the ADA or FMLA.
  • Abusing power and financial leverage by terminating an employee in response to a demand for better treatment. (although the employee is legally protected from unfair retaliation, unsavory organizations will usually find a way around this in any given context)
  • Abusing power and financial leverage by intentionally leading employees to believe that they can be easily replaced, or are otherwise not as valuable as the actual talent pool would dictate.
  • Distributing royalties and bonuses after project completion in a way that is wholly disproportionate to the distribution of talent and effort behind the end product.

Although legal protections are available in many of these cases, those protections so often go unused or remain unavailable due to the context of the abuse. It's our goal to help eliminate this sort of abuse by discouraging it as part of our organization's foundation. If you have more suggestions for our company EPE, let us know! If you feel one of our partners or clients is not in keeping with the EPE, let us know about that too - we'll do our best to protect your anonymity, and if your information can be verified, you'll receive our gratitude.
